Moped Tuesday happened. Super fun with rad folks. My cheeks hurt from laughing so hard at the most retarded jokes in the world.

Moped Tuesdays

Rode from S'Matter to Krispy Kreme mostly through the alleys. It was hilarious and dusty and fun as hell.

Yesterday afternoon it stormed like crazy...biggest windiest one we've had in a while. Trees fell down all along Riverside Drive and closed it down. Roads through the fan were full of huge branches. The Safari ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT run on a wet road or in the rain, its been that way for 6 years. Just will not go, no matter what. I completely replaced all the wiring and put a new sparkplug boot on it. Still, if its on a wet road, it dies. Has spark, but will not start. Stupid stupid stupid. Considering the storm yesterday, I decided to go to the garage and tidy up for a little while before catching a ride home. I made it four blocks on the Safari before it cut off. Along the walk to the garage I saw this:

Lightning struck

Lightning!!!! DANG! Fell right across power lines, dragged em down and crashed on the roof of someones shed. Bummer for them.

Waiting til the weekend, the list of errands to run is stacking up. Rooftop trespassers two nights ago broke a bunch of my plants and my friends came through with tons of new cuttings. So stoked, new plants with good stories. So a lot of my time will be spent setting those new dudes up and finding new containers to put em in. Stoked.

SO. I decided to take the wheels from the raven and mount em to the Safari. I love the black glossy spoked wheelset it currently had, but it had NO braking capability. So sketchy. Spent a good amount of time in the bathtub, scrubbing years of caked on grease and dirt.

16" offset five star Italian mag wheels

They actually came out pretty white! Mounted up, no problemo, recabled the brakes, and dialed em in. Stopping on a dime now! This morning was my first ride to work with actual brakes, it sure was nice.

Found a pretty awesome jumping spider lurking in my zinnias today. He was real cool looking, not afraid of my cellphone all up in his biz, he just posed for pics like it was his job.

Its moped tuesday, stoked for dinner and a ride to the donught shop later. Other than that, its gonna be a chill week.

poof! the weekend vanishes too fast every time. back to work.
i spent mine working/playing with the new rv. so awesome.
the garden is getting fried by the 90+ degree temperatures we're having. carrots and peppers love it, so do the sunflowers, but everything else is pretty cross.
i got very very excited the other morning when i went onto the roof to water and noticed that the sunflowers were full of honeybees. all the way up on our roof! how rad!

a little eBay joy filled my life last week that i forgot to mention. about 6-7 years ago i bought this exact set of glasses at Exile. Over the years, numerous house parties, potlucks, guests, and clumsy moments/roomates, the four became just one sad man left standing. what joy when i happened upon a set of the exact three i was missing on eBay! i've looked for them for years, and never see them listed, til now. total fate! anyway, they're back in action, all four friends united, and i'll be more careful with them.

yesterday my allergies went insane when i got to work and my brain exploded out of the front of my face. snot and headache and throwup, all in one, at work, how cool. went home and laid in a bed full of animals, the perfect allergy remedy. not really, but yes really.

Cold medicine

today things are returning to normal and i'm feeling less crazy as the day goes on. phew. looking forward to the arrival of this weekend, our new FLOR tiles arrived today for the RV, and i am so excited to put them in there and get rid of the horrible beige carpet.
sneak peek.

we had a rally. it was fun and busy and awesome. it was also my birthday.

aquabattle coincided with the rally this year...friday and saturday were all us, sunday was the cutthroat's water fest. i ran a lot of errands during the rally and in general, didn't ride mopeds on rides, just to and from things i had to do. pictures occurred whenever i sat down for a second.
the film i bought was totally bunk. expired film = sometimes you win, this time i lost. i mean it wasn't a total loss, but you know.

there has been so much going on that i haven't even posted my favorite pictures from them! so here goes!
